Viziera wood-burning fireplace is the first TMF’s fireplace with wide translucent door. The name origins from the Spanish word “visera”, which means “visor”.

Elegant and simple design, which is typical for all TMF’s stoves, marks this fireplace out among other items manufactured in Russia at first sight. First of all it is half-round heat-resistant door, through which it is easy to observe pyrolysis burning of wood pieces.

The illusion of floating flame is created by pyrolysis burning that takes place in lined furnace of the fireplace.



Pyrolysis is the first stage of wood burning. It is decomposition of wood at the high temperature and lack of oxygen.

Spurts of flame, which anyone saw on burning wood and knots in a fire, are created by burning not the carbon of the wood itself, but of the gases generated by the wood - the volatile products of pyrolysis. A lot of different matters are generated during pyrolysis of wood (450—500 °C) such as: methyl alcohol, (that is why methanol is called the “wood alcohol”), acetic acid, acetone, benzol, furan, and many others.

Final product of the complete pyrolysis of wood is almost pure carbon — charcoal.

After filling the furnace with wood pieces and its ignition the flame exfoliates into three horizontal layers as follows: hot charcoal on the bottom, translucent air in the middle, and a slowly waving semitransparent flame in the top part of the furnace.  

This is happening because of wood pyrolysis, caused by the high temperature on the bottom of the lined furnace and lack of the primary air.  Pyrolysis gases are rose without ignition to the top part of the furnace, then they ignite, where the heated secondary air is supplied through the burner nozzles.
Lined plates, which are placed on sides, on the rear wall, on the bottom, and on the top of the furnace, are a good thermal insulator, due to which the maximum possible temperature for the most complete burning of all fuel components is achieved in the furnace.

Supply of primary and secondary air to the furnace is controlled by two slide blocks located under the bottom surface of the fireplace.  Channel for uncontrolled supply of hot air to the glass for its pyrolysis self-cleaning is also located above the door.

The key advantage of the fireplace with lined furnace is cleaner door, as the high temperature of burning wood and air falling to the glass prevent it from darkening.

The flue gases pass to the flue as clean of soot and smoke as they could be due to pyrolysis burning and high temperature in the second combustion chamber. As the result, there is no accumulation of soot and condensed pyrolysis gases on the flue pipe’s walls.  Therefore, the flue is to be cleaned less often.

Wood pieces are to be of maximum 20-25% humidity for stability of pyrolysis process, because an excess amount of water steam may worsen burning.

The fireplace supports high burning mode in case of high supply of primary air to the furnace.
Heat-resistant lined plates also protect furnace’s walls from burning out and increase efficiency.  

Opening of the furnace is lifted in relation to its bottom plate. This prevents burning wood pieces and charcoal from falling out when the door is opened.

The horizontal ventilation opening, through which heated air gets to the room, is located above the fireplace’s door.

There are installation slots at the top horizontal surface and on the rare wall of the fireplace, where the flue pipe is installed at the client’s choice. The fireplace provides more stable operation in pyrolysis mode of burning, when the flue pipe is installed upwards. The slots are sealed with plugs perforated along the outline, which are easy to remove before installation of the flue pipe. We recommend wall-mounted installation of the fireplace.

There is no ash drawer in the furnace as the fireplace is designed taking into account pyrolysis burning at the bottom plate. The amount of ash left in the furnace is so little that it can be carefully swept away to a dustpan as the wide opening of the door allows you to make it with comfort.

The fireplace is based on the steady elegant support. The whole surface of the support, including its flat base, is coated with lasting polymeric composition resistant to a physical impact.

The production line includes one model of Viziera fireplace made in “black bronze” colour.
